This year you can make up for the moments you've missed with friends and family. Whether you're planning a street party to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee or a 10 peak hike in the Brecon Beacons, these tips from our Fundraising Officer Meg will give your fundraising a boost.

Take on the Brecon Beacons 10 Peaks ChallengeBarbeque cook-off

Sell tickets to friends and family and ask a local shop or butchers to donate your BBQ goods. Or challenge your friend's to make the best burger. Charge people to enter the competition and choose a team of judges to score their creations.

Sports tournament

By hosting a sports tournament and fundraising for us, you’ll be one hop, skip and jump closer to making a big difference to the 10 hospitals we support across Bristol cite centre, South Bristol and Weston-super-Mare. Pull out all the stops with a rounders tournament or put on a boules competition and ask those who attend for a small donation on entry and see how much you can raise.

Summer fare

There's lots of ways to fundraise at a summer fare. You could sell entry tickets or sell tickets for a tombola or raffle, have lots of stalls with games, cakes or crafts, face painting - the list goes on and on!

Overseas challenge

Going abroad this summer? Why not challenge yourself in parts of the world you’ve never been before? Fundraise for us overseas and spread the word about Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.

From climbing Kilimanjaro to cycling the Great Wall of China, there's got lots of challenges on offer with Global Adventure Challenge.

Car wash-a-thon

Partner with a local church, school, or other community organisation that can donate a location for the day and raise money for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity by washing cars. Enlist all your friends to help - the more you wash, the more you raise!

Lemonade stand

Who can resist a cute three-year-old selling ice-cold lemonade and snacks? Why not make your own lemonade along with a stand and sell watermelon slice ice lollies, frozen fruit kebabs, and berry muffins as snacks.Celebrate the NHS Big Tea

Water balloon fight

This could be a stand-alone event or a part of your bigger sports tournament. Charge a small fee per balloon and for refreshments.

Clock up your kilometres

Set up a weekly walking group and ask members for a small donation for each hike.

    Celebrate your NHS

It’s the NHS’ birthday why not host a part-tea to say a great big THANK YOU to our amazing NHS champions who are always ready to provide care and support when we need. Taking part is as simple as baking banana bread and using your self-brewing power to get the tea and coffee flowing for the day. Afterwards, you can pay money raised online or if you can’t accept cash, you can set up a JustGiving page to collect online donations on the day. Your special part-tea will help make a big difference to our local hospitals.
