The Big Bristol Abseil at Avon Gorge has raised £24,500 for our hospitals in Bristol and Weston.

On 26th and 27th March, almost 80 abseilers took on the challenge, bravely scaling down the rock face all in aid of a good cause.

Taking part in the event were thankful patients, NHS staff, charity staff and some adrenaline junkies just looking for their next adventure.

Katie Walker, our Director of Fundraising and Marketing, did the abseil herself. She said: “I was extremely nervous but it was worth it to make a difference to patients and staff at our hospitals. It was an amazing personal achievement and it was really good fun.

The money raised from this event will bring moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most and I’m really proud to be doing my bit to help.

If you're interested in our next Big Bristol Abseil on 17th and 18th September, register your interest and you'll be the first to hear all the details of our next event.
