Team UHBW Apply for a workplace wellbeing grant This section is for UHBW staff only. Charity funds do great things to improve the health and happiness of every patient in all 10 of our hospitals in Bristol city centre, South Bristol and Weston-super-Mare. We're now working in partnership with the UHBW Workplace Wellbeing Team. All applications for wellbeing grants will be assessed by the UHBW team to ensure that projects align with the Trust’s strategic objectives. What we fund We'll fund the little things that make a big difference, going above and beyond to transform the experiences patients have in our hospitals, wherever the need is greatest. We fund the creation of welcoming, healing environments, innovative research, support staff training and development and provide world class technology and equipment. Funding priorities: The little things that make a big difference Healing environments and spaces to provide dignity, privacy and empathy Championing equitable access for everyone World-class technology, treatments, knowledge, and research. Eligibility To receive funding from Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, your grant application must meet our three main eligibility criteria: Whether the request falls within the charity’s funding priorities Request is over and above what the NHS and/or Trust should provide The request will pass the ‘public perception test’ – would the request be viewed as an appropriate use of charitable funds by the public or donors? What we will not consider funding requests for: Retrospective requests – i.e. anything that has already been paid for Department-specific awards Staff parties, including Christmas parties Social events Alcohol Items or incentives for individual members of staff (e.g. retirement, thank you gifts, etc.) Single-use collateral to promote activities, campaigns or events Domestic items such as microwaves or fridges Tea and coffee provision Water coolers Replacement of items for staff Maintenance costs for items Provisions for strike-related activity Anything considered inappropriate use of charitable funds, risking both the charity and UHBW Trust reputation (the public perception test). What we will consider funding: (Please note there must be an aspect of patient benefit – i.e. rested staff provide better care) Improvements to staff rest areas that are not considered core expenditure, i.e. more comfortable furniture or benches and plants for outside areas Accessories such as lanyards and badges. Wellness activities, i.e. yoga/mindfulness/running club Anything that aligns with the Trust’s wellbeing strategy that does not include any of the items above.
