The Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) Clinical Trials Team are taking on the Jurassic Coast Challenge.

Five members of the team are strapping on their walking boots and walking 10km round the Dorset coast.

Spurred on by Emil Cano, a Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity Champion, the team are completing the challenge on 14th May.

Emil said: “We wanted to do something for the Trust’s charity in the knowledge that whatever amount we can raise will help our patients now and in the future.

“We’re looking forward to the nice views and, of course, this is good bonding time for us outside of our clinical trials work.”

The ward where Emil and his colleagues, Eve Watson, Ines Marcal, Bryony Fleur-Hopwood and Paula Byrne, work has benefited from Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity funding. This has included reclining chemotherapy chairs and staff training.

Emil added: “As a Charity Champion, I know the work of the charity is very important. The work they do for the Trust is invaluable, filling the gaps where NHS finances are unable to.”

A big thank you goes to Emil and the team for joining #TeamBWHC.
