18th July 2022

Emma-Louise Woods, the emergency department Team Leader at Weston General Hospital, has planned a charity Zumbathon event. Led by professional Zumba instructors, the event is open to all abilities and is taking place at the Worle Gym on the 2nd October.

Emma said, "As an employee of UHBW and a member of the local community the hospitals service I have had the privilege of seeing and experiencing the difference the money raised and donated through Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity has made to the patients as well as the great things to improve the health and happiness of every patient that uses the services across the Trust."

"This event will bring together people who care about a cause so that they can make a difference."

There is up to 150 slots open for the event as well as an on-site cake sale contributing to the fundraising aiming to raise £2,000 to improve the health and happiness of every patient that uses the services across UHBW.

“The work that the charity does and what they provide is vital to the patients that use the service. Charities care for the whole person, whether their needs are medical, emotional or social and provide support throughout a patient's journey to recovery."

It will be a great opportunity to raise awareness and raise vital funds whilst have some good old-fashioned fun with friends and family. So, if you’re interested, sign up for the event coming up on July 16th now and dance to fund the little things that make a big difference!
