Bristol comedian Russell Howard has headlined Above & Beyond's charity comedy shows to raise funds for Bristol city centre hospitals.

Funny Bones: Russell Howard & Guests was held at Bristol Hippodrome on Sunday 29 September and featured performances from Russell himself, Jon Richardson, Joel Dommett, Stuart Goldsmith, Laura Lexx and many others – all hosted by Mark Olver.

The shows raised a huge £100,000, which included donations at both the matinee and evening performances.

All proceeds will go towards improving patient care at Bristol’s hospitals by funding welcoming environments, staff training and development, world-class equipment and innovative research.

Our corporate and community fundraising manager, Edd Smith, said: “It was such a fantastic day, creating a real buzz around Bristol and raising a phenomenal amount for Bristol’s hospitals.

“I want to say a huge thank you to all the comedians for donating their time, Bristol Hippodrome for hosting the event and to everyone who came along to the shows. Watch this space for next year’s comedy show!”
