12 FUNDRAISING IDEAS TO HELP YOU DO GREAT THINGS THIS CHRISTMAS

 National Elf Service Day

Take part in the second biggest day this Christmas - National Elf Service Day. Getting involved is as easy as finding the first door on your advent calendar. Simply dress as an elf with your friends, family, colleagues, classmates or pets and make a donation to your local hospitals. 

You can pull out all the stops – from the elf hat on your head to the tips of the elf slippers on your toes. This is your moment of elf greatness.

 Challenge your elf

Sign up to a race or create your own challenge to get you in the festive fundraising spirit. Get a team of elves together to join you for added fun and set up your JustGiving page. 

You could: 

• Sign up to a run or event near you 
• Do your local run dressed as santa or an elf
• Winter sponsored walk
• 12 days of Christmas Challenge - Run 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k etc. for the 12 days of Christmas
• Get your fitness class to wear elf hats for a special National Elf Service Day workout

 Weston Christmas Cracker 10k Run

What better way to get into the festive spirit than with a 10k run! With your support this Christmas. This cracker of a course covers tarmac and beach, and there's refreshments available on the day.

There's a prize for the best fancy dress too, so don your best Santa suit for this one!

 Deck your house

Add some sparkle to your house this Christmas and decorate the front of your house. Set up a JustGiving page and create a QR code to stick in your window or outside for anyone to donate. You could even ask your neighbours to get involved and light up the whole street for your local NHS. 

 Door Step Carols

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. On the 15th December, people all other the country will be joining in on this national event, Door Step Carols. Sing loud and proud and share the power of music by singing along on your doorstep. Ask your friends and families to donate to your local hospitals by setting up a JustGiving page and creating a QR code to stick in your window for passers by.

 Boxing day dip and donate

Brave the chill for an exhilarating sponsored boxing day dip in the sea. You could invite your friends and family and even dress up as an elf or Santa for your swim. Ask your friends and families to sponsor you by setting up a JustGiving page.

The key requirements of the challenge are:

• No wetsuits, but you can do fancy dress
• Dip in cold water – for example the sea, a lake or a lido, for 100 seconds
• Donate £10
• Have fun! (But do make sure you stay safe and follow cold water swimming safety guidelines)

 Christmas quiz

Be a quizmaster and get your friends and family involved for some quizical fun. Whether you create a quiz, do an online raffle or play games, you could encourage those participating to make a donation to your fundraiser and help bring joy to patients in hospital. 

 Christmas bake sale

Ready, set, bake! Organise a bake sale to sell festive goodies at your work, school or local club. Christmas cake, mince pies, gingerbread and fairycakes will be a great way to help share Christmas spirit and donate the proceeds.

 Festive sweepstake

Guess the name of the elf, how many baubles are on the tree, or how many reindeer biscuits are in a jar are just a few ideas to get you started. This is a quick and easy way to raise funds. Charge people for entry, with half of the pot going to the winner and half to Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity. A nice little boost for the winner and to your hospitals.

 Secret Santa

Instead of spending £10 on Secret Santa pressies, ask your friends and colleagues to set the limit to £5 and donate the spare to £5 to Bristol and Weston hospitals. 

 Christmas fundraising on Facebook

You could set up a Facebook Fundraiser to raise much-needed funds for Bristol and Weston hospitals. It's a fantastic way to raise money for any Christmas activities or challenges you take on.
