22nd August 2023

On Saturday 19th August, brave fundraisers took on the Big Bristol Abseil down Bristol Aquarium to raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital. It was a fantastic day surrounded by amazing people, from fundraisers challenging themselves to overcome their fear of heights to those who were joining us for their second or even third Big Abseil (yes, it really is that good!).

Despite the unpredictable British weather, spirits remained high and there really were smiles for miles (well, technically 100ft). After the exhilaration of completing their great descent, the abseilers could then enjoy free entry at Bristol Aquarium.

YOU'RE ALL SO GREAT

Everyone absolutely smashed their fundraising and together our abseilers have raised a whopping £9,500 in support of the South West Children's Appeal. An incredible project to build a life-changing research centre at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

A big thank you to everyone who took part including Natalie Fineman, the Lead Nurse for Research at the children's hospital, Charity Champion Tracy Arthur, a nurse at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and Charlie and Jonny from the Bristol Bears.

It was yet another brilliant Big Bristol Abseil thanks to our fundraisers, our amazing volunteers, Bristol Aquarium and everyone at Dave Talbot Adventure Events
