The firm behind some of Bristol’s most iconic bars has chosen hospital’s charity Above & Beyond as the new Charity of the Year.

Proudly Bristolian, Quarter run Racks Bar & Kitchen, Clifton Hotels Group, The Square and more.

The independent company recently celebrated its 60th anniversary with a party on Berkley Square, where they kicked off their fundraising efforts.

Staff are also planning bake sales, pub quizzes and bingo events.

Nathalie Crease, who is on the charity committee at Quarter, said: “We are honoured to be working with a local charity that we have such an emotional connection with, following the death of a close friend of Quarter's.

“It is especially important to us that we collaborate with a local Bristol charity on our 60th anniversary year, so we can give something back to the city that has given us so much.”

Above & Beyond was chosen from three charities shortlisted by the firm.

It comes after someone very close to the company passed away following a heart attack. The money Quarter raise will go to Bristol Heart Institute (BHI).

Above & Beyond's Corporate Partnerships Officer Gemma Jenkins said: “It’s fantastic to be working alongside such a proudly Bristolian firm to raise funds for our hospitals right here in Bristol.

“The BHI is one of the UK’s leading cardiac centres and the leading centre for keyhole surgery so the money raised really will be invaluable.

“All the money raised pays for world-class equipment, the very best facilities, innovative research and training and development for NHS staff.”
