Thank you to all the businesses who are supporting our hospitals! Here's what they've been up to over the summer:

Big Bristol Give NHS70 and Big 7Tea Parties

Firstly a massive thank you to all the companies that supported the Big Bristol Give NHS70 fundraising campaign in July. Wards Solicitors provided a hugely generous match-funding donation of £7,000 which helped generate a total of £14,807 for our hospitals to celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS. De Vere Tortworth Court and Bristol Twenty Tea & Coffee Co. kindly provided the prizes for our most successful ambassadors for the campaign.

Thank you also to Swoon, Bradleys Juice and Asda who supported the Big 7Tea Parties that took place in our hospitals, and to Savills and Pukka Herbs for hosting their own tea parties!

Kingston Barnes

Construction recruitment firm Kingston Barnes continues its fantastic support of Above & Beyond. The staff have fundraised throughout the year with a golf day, a row-a-thon, and will be taking part in a 10 mile Tough Mudder in August. Recent fundraising has helped fund a sensory play area in Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and the team continues to fundraise for an incubator for St Michael’s Hospital.

Jacob’s Barber-Rista

One weekend in June, the team at this recently opened Park Street barber cut hair for free in return for a donation to Above & Beyond. The £318 raised went to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Kendall Kingscott

Kendall Kingscott’s Bristol office is supporting Above & Beyond throughout 2018 with its Charity of the Year partnership. The summer months have seen a team of 25 Kendall Kingscott staff, and family members, taking on the Colour Obstacle Rush and a fiercely-contested Table Football Tournament to coincide with the World Cup. One of the team, Jon, is also in the midst of taking on 11 Tough Mudder events across the country – go Jon!

Buffalo Fundraising Consultants

Last year, Buffalo Fundraising Consultants chose Above & Beyond as their Charity of the Year. Through staff lotteries, poker nights and one mammoth bike ride by their Business Development Manager Chris Rainford, they raised £758. We popped along to their office in June for the cheque presentation. Well done and thank you to the whole team!

The Inn on the Green

The Inn on the Green in Filton has raised an incredible £1,000 to say thank you for the care that one of the pub regular’s children has received at the Juvenile Diabetes Department. The team used its popular Annual Beer Festival to host a fundraising Nerf Gun Alley and a raffle.

AXA Connect

AXA’s Bristol office organised a fundraising pub quiz at Bar Humbug and raised a wonderful £913 to fund iPads for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit as part of the Bristol Heart Institute Appeal.

Nisbets

Catering equipment firm Nisbets celebrated raising more than £20,000 for Above & Beyond! Nisbets has been supporting the charity for four years and staff members regularly take on the Bristol 10K. The money raised from this year’s 20 runners has gone towards hoists for the Neuroscience Ward and Rehabilitation Unit at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

An Evening with Gary and Lee Johnson

The exclusive event with the Johnsons at Ashton Gate Stadium was a great success and over £20,000 was raised on the night. Attendees enjoyed a three course meal, comedy from Mark Watson, a Q&A with Gary and Lee, and a fantastic fundraising auction. Thank you to everyone involved and those who donated and bid on the prizes to raise funds for the Bristol Heart Institute Appeal.

Hype Agency

Once again, we’re partnering with Hype for one of its spectacular Christmas parties! Brunel’s Old Station will be transformed into a Winter Wonkaland with a wintery twist on Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. £5 of each ticket sold for the party on Thursday 13 December will be donated to Above & Beyond and we will also be holding a charity raffle on the night. Get your tickets from the Hype website

And finally...

We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Carbase UK. The team will be fundraising for the charity throughout the year and have already generated a donation of £1,500 via the Autotrader graduate scheme. We look forward to working with Carbase on fundraising activities in future months.
