A former patient at the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) has sold his record collection to raise money for Bristol’s hospitals.

Chris Pearce was treated at the BHI for a heart attack seven years ago and has since supported Above & Beyond to give back to our hospitals.

He had a collection of LPs from the 60s and 70s, including Bob Dylan, Beatles and Queen, which he sold to Wanted Records in St Nick’s Market, raising more than £400.

Chris said: “The records have been sitting in a box in my garage for years and I got rid of any equipment to play them a long time ago.

“I was very surprised by how much I was offered for them, it was an average of about £15 per album. I have no idea who would want to buy such stuff but there is clearly a market out there!

“I had already decided that any money I could get would be donated to Above & Beyond so I was delighted to raise so much.”
