On 1st October, Helen Pleuss-Hall will be taking on her first ever half marathon in the Cardiff Half Marathon. Helens first half marathon in the Cardiff half to raise money for Bristol Childrens Hospital

Helen is fundraising in support of the South West Children's Research Appeal - an amazing project to build a dedicated research centre at Bristol Children's Hospital. The new research centre, The Coral Reef, will transform treatments and improve the lives of children living with life-limiting conditions all across the South West

Helen has not only been busy fundraising and training for this challenge, but she also works with the clinical research team at Bristol Children's Hospital. She knows first-hand just how important fundraising for our hospitals is and the impact this can have for patients and staff.

I'm very proud to work with an amazing team, who support and deliver clinical research.  Thanks to this charity's support there will now be a dedicated clinical area for children participating in clinical research.

Currently, research trials for young patients with life-limiting conditions are restricted, as Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is the only big children's hospital in the UK without a dedicated research facility. But thanks to fundraisers like Helen, we are going to change that!

HOORAY FOR HELEN

Let's all cheer Helen on as she takes on the Cardiff Half Marathon and raises money for this life-changing project.

Thank you Helen for going above and beyond!

(And we can't go without saying that we absolutely love your Coral Reef themed leggings!)
