One of the free hospital shuttle buses is being renamed in memory of one of its loyal drivers.

Carlton Moyston, 61, had worked at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) since 1998. He died at Bristol Royal Infirmary on 23 June, and had tested positive for COVID-19.

The grandfather, affectionately known as 'Tiny' by his colleagues, is being honoured with the renaming of one of the free hospital shuttle buses, a service supported by Above & Beyond.

‘The Tiny Bus’ will continue to make trips to Bristol Temple Meads and around the city centre hospitals.

Robert Woolley, Chief Executive at UHBW, said: “Carlton was a very popular member of staff who will be greatly missed.

“Carlton started working for the Trust in October 1998 as a security officer before becoming a transport driver, which saw him drive the hospital free bus and transport lorries.

“He was particularly well known as a driver of the hospital bus. Above & Beyond’s thoughtful gesture to name one of the buses ‘The Tiny Bus’ will ensure a lasting legacy for Carlton.

“Our thoughts remain with Carlton’s family at this difficult time.”

Paul Kearney, CEO of Above & Beyond, added: “Carlton was a well-known and popular member of the transport team and everyone at the charity is very grateful for his many years of service.

“This gesture will keep his name in everyone’s thoughts and memories over the coming years.

“Our condolences continue to be with the family at this time.”
