Nurses at the Intensive Care Unit at Bristol Royal Infirmary have started a fundraising page to support staff morale and the wellbeing of both staff and patients.

Speaking about the decision to start the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal fundraiser, critical care nurse Diana Douglas said:

“Our staff continuously go above and beyond their roles and I am immensely proud of them all. The fundraiser will aid staff wellbeing on the ICU, where our team strives in providing the highest standards of care to all our patients.

“Thank you everyone for helping us and we will continue to provide the care and compassion to all our patients during these trying times as we always do.”

Money raised will help set up a sanctuary room in which staff can have a few minutes of calm during a busy shift.

The team has set a target of £1,500 and, at the time of writing, had raised over £1,350. You can support them on their JustGiving page.
