The University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust wellbeing scheme has received funding thanks to NHS Charities Together.

Thanks to the incredible fundraising people across the country have done this year, the organisation is issuing grants to local charities, including Above & Beyond.

The grant received totalled £303,000 and will go to the wellbeing scheme, a programme of support for staff at the Trust over and above what the NHS alone can provide.

The programme includes counselling, drop-in sessions and health checks for NHS staff.

Elaine Gibson, Above & Beyond’s Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, said: “The effects of the pandemic will be felt by staff long into the future and right now it is especially important that they have access to the support they need.

“It has been amazing to see people around the country, including in Bristol, unite to fundraise for our NHS and we need to continue this as staff face new and increasing demands.

“Your donations will allow us to continue to support NHS staff as they care for our communities.”

Above & Beyond has also received a £2,000 grant from Amazon towards the Christmas items for staff at the hospitals.
