Who we are Your hospitals Bristol Centre for Enablement SUPPORT BRISTOL CENTRE FOR ENABLEMENT Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and Southmead Hospital Charity have now joined together as one charity partner for our newly merged Trust, Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. Together, we support 13 hospitals across Bristol and Weston, including Bristol Centre for Enablement. Bristol Centre of Enablement (BCE) provides a variety of health and rehabilitation services designed to help individuals with complex disabilities or long-term conditions live as independently as possible across the region. The services include: The Prosthetics Service, which sees patients who have had an amputation or who have been born with a limb deficiency. The provide assessments, make and fit it within the clinic, and provide on-going support and advice. The Orthotics team, which provides external appliances which help support and control movement, for example, spinal braces, footwear and insoles. The Wheelchair Service, which is a specialist service providing wheelchairs and wheelchair seating for long-term mobility needs. The AAC West Service (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), which specialises in supporting people who have difficulties with their speech, from high-tech devices to paper based AAC. The Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT) Service South West, which provides specialist assistive technology to help people with physical impairments live more independently at home.
