Introducing the charity to the public

Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity is the NHS charity for Bristol city centre hospitals, South Bristol Community Hospital and Weston General Hospital. A donation or time spent volunteering or fundraising for us will help to improve the health and happiness of every patient in all 10 of our hospitals.

We know that patients and their friends and families are often looking for a way to say thank you for the outstanding care received from you while being treated in hospital.

Our latest Impact Report shines a light on just a fraction of what is possible with their support.

Please encourage people to get in touch with us directly via the website, email or phone, or by dropping into our fundraising hub in the Bristol Royal Infirmary welcome centre to chat with our volunteers:

Donations from patients, friends and families

Many of your patients or their families and friends would like to donate to say thank you for their care. You may also choose to do some fundraising for your NHS charity to make a difference to yourself and colleagues.

If you receive donations for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity directly, you can use the donation receipt book situated on your ward to provide a receipt to the donor. Alternatively, you can visit our fundraising hub in the BRI welcome centre to pay in donations to our volunteers who will then fill out a donation receipt for you. Please note all cheques must be made payable to Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.

When donations are processed they will be allocated to the appropriate fund. The donor will receive a thank you from the charity and learn a little more about the impact their donation will have.

The Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity will also process the Gift Aid claims and work hard to secure ongoing support from the donor. This ensures every pound donated grows further, while also helping to cover the operational costs necessary for generating income for charitable purposes.

If your donation receipt book is finished or you have , please request a new one from our Income Administrator Leanne on [email protected] and she will put it in the internal post for you.
