A new Christmas single is raising money for the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI).

Kevin Douglas wanted to say thank you for the care he received after having a valve fitted at the BHI in 2019. During the operation he had a mini stroke, which led to a week on life support with sepsis and pneumonia. He said the care he received was 'second to none'.

To say thank you, Kevin has written and recorded 'It's Christmas' - a festive single to raise money for the hospital. It features on his album 'Memories'.

Kevin said: "I'd like to thank all of the BHI staff, from the surgeons to the tea lady. So kind. I would like to thank them for the diary they did for me while I was in a coma. It has helped a lot with my recovery, just knowing they were there for me. My family told me they looked after me so well.

"I have been a guitarist and singer in bands for 40 years, and have been writing an album for 25 of those years. I have managed to finish it after the stroke and am dedicating the Christmas song to the BHI. Any money raised will be for the charity."
