A new Christmas single is raising money for the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI).

Memories is raising money for the BHIKevin Douglas wanted to say thank you for the care he received after having a valve fitted at the BHI in 2019. During the operation he had a mini stroke, which led to a week on life support with sepsis and pneumonia. He said the care he received was 'second to none'.

To say thank you, Kevin has written and recorded 'It's Christmas' - a festive single to raise money for the hospital. It features on his album 'Memories'.

Kevin said: "I'd like to thank all of the BHI staff, from the surgeons to the tea lady. So kind. I would like to thank them for the diary they did for me while I was in a coma. It has helped a lot with my recovery, just knowing they were there for me. My family told me they looked after me so well.

"I have been a guitarist and singer in bands for 40 years, and have been writing an album for 25 of those years. I have managed to finish it after the stroke and am dedicating the Christmas song to the BHI. Any money raised will be for the charity."

Kevin's album Memories is available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube now. To donate, visit his JustGiving page.
