A family is going above and beyond with their fundraising in memory of their baby son Franklin, who passed away aged just three months old.

The money raised will be split between Above & Beyond and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, who transported Franklin to hospital.

On the anniversary of Franklin’s death next week, dad Chris will cycle the 42 miles from their home in Calne to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC), where Franklin was treated.

Franklin’s mum Katelyn is also selling ‘Franklin’s Fun Boxes’, boxes which include activities for children aged three plus, with a percentage of all sales going to the charities.

As well as this, the family have a fitness event, a 24-hour gaming marathon, a walking challenge and are selling t-shirts and hoodies.

So far they have raised more than £1,000.

Katelyn said: "This really is every parent’s worst nightmare and that is why we do our annual fundraising events, as without the charities involved we wouldn’t have had the chance to say goodbye to our precious boy, and for that we are forever grateful.

“We want to show our support to those who helped us say goodbye to Franklin, in the hope that no-one else will have to go through it.”

Last year the family raised more than £3,000 for the charities.
