A home from home space which will save lives, transform treatments and reveal research that provides cures for conditions including for children not even born yet. Imagine if your only hope for your child was to travel hundreds of miles to try a new treatment A poorly child rocks family life to its core and parents suddenly have to juggle a new ‘normal’, every hospital admission, often filled with worry, progress mixed with setbacks, endless updates to friends and family rallying around them. Imagine if your only hope for a cure for your child was to travel hundreds of miles to London, Birmingham or further afield every few weeks to try a new, innovative treatment. And to do that one of you would probably have to leave your job to have the time to stay with your child. For some children there isn’t an alternative treatment choice for them. A research trial is their only hope. Their chance for a better future. Treatment has changed life for Harrison Harrison was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at three weeks old. When he was eight his lung function dropped to just 70% and he became unwell. Two years after joining a revolutionary drug trial at Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital his lung function is 94% and he’s living an active and happy life. That’s pretty incredible, right?
