In recognition of the amazing support our donors and fundraisers have given to the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI), we've unveiled 'Love Heart' decorations inside the BHI Atrium.

The installation of the Love Hearts marks six months since the launch of the BHI Appeal and enables Above & Beyond to recognise people who want to say thank you for the outstanding care received while in the hospital. There are also Love Hearts in memory of loved ones.

Not only do the Love Hearts create a more welcoming environment for patients, families and friends, and staff, but they also hint at the personal stories behind the donations and funds raised for the BHI. Some of the people recognised with Love Hearts include:

• Lucy Vowles is a committed Above & Beyond supporter who has raised money for research at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and a 3D Ultrasound Scanner for the Fetal Medicine Unit at St Michael's Hospital. The money for the BHI has been raised as part of her fundraising efforts for this year's London Marathon.

• Bob George, who was treated in the BHI, has left a wonderfully generous legacy donation to the BHI Appeal which will make a huge difference to patients for years to come.

• The team from NFU Mutual Bristol took part in a month of dedicated fundraising activities in January 2018 to raise money for the BHI Appeal in memory of two colleagues.

We will be adding more Love Hearts to the BHI Atrium to say thank you to our generous donors and fundraisers as our £830,000 Appeal continues throughout 2018.
