Terry Davis is celebrating his 65th year with a whopping 65 fundraising events for Above & Beyond.

The former cancer patient is aiming to raise £6,500 for Bristol Against Cancer, a campaign by the charity to make cancer care in Bristol the best it can be.

Terry is already well underway, having completed a 5k run on his 64th birthday, a dry January, with no meat or fizzy drinks, and the Pomphrey Hill Challenger – twice.

Terry is spurred on by his positive mental attitude and uses the phrase to promote his challenges.

He said: “During the cancer treatment I looked for things with a positive message to share. My family and friends liked the messages I would share on Facebook- they could relate to it, and it really gave me a good feeling to know I was helping people.

“This is a way to say thank you for all the help of the NHS when I had my battle with cancer. We have all lost loved ones to cancer and the NHS is always there to support and help, especially during this year’s Covid-19 outbreak.

“I am asking my friends, family and work colleagues to help support me and suggest events they would like me to participate in. However whoever nominates me must do the event with me!”

This isn’t Terry’s first fundraising challenge for Above & Beyond. Previously he completed 60 challenges for his 60th birthday, raising money for our Golden Gift Appeal.
