BRING JOY TO PATIENTS WITH DEMENTIA THIS CHRISTMAS

My name is Linda and I work in the Dementia Team at Bristol Royal Infirmary.

Christmas is particularly hard for my elderly patients. They remember their traditions of spending time with family, making paper chains, singing along to Christmas songs as you put up the tree and finding a six pence in their Christmas pudding. It’s often the most cherished memories they have. It’s sometimes the only memories they have.

Christmas to me is making sure my patients have moments of joy, comfort and hope when they’re spending the festive period in hospital. But to do that I need your help.

With your help, we will put smiles on patients’ faces this Christmas

BRING JOY TO PATIENTS THIS CHRISTMAS

Fill Christmas with joy for patients like ErnieFill Christmas with joy for patients

I have one patient, Ernie, whose wife comes to visit him every single day. There are no buses on Christmas Day, but that won’t stop her trying. I have other patients who will have no visitors at all.

For some patients, this Christmas in hospital will be their last.

I work with a caring and dedicated team who bring a ray of winter sunshine into what is often a sad situation for the patients we care for.

You can help us with the little things that can make a big difference to our patients. From a present to open on Christmas morning to a Christmas cracker to pull with their lunch; we want to make their Christmas the best it can be.

A donation today will help us do so much for patients like Ernie.
