The University of Bristol Dental Hospital (BDH) is a Centre of Excellence providing routine and specialist clinical dental services for the South West.

The hospital acts as a teaching platform for dental undergraduate students at the University of Bristol which is one of the top dental schools in the UK. Students provide emergency treatment and a range of specialist services for patients, under supervision of nationally and internationally recognised consultants.  

Did you know?

• Each year, staff treat around 85,000 outpatients
• BDH has been training dental surgeons since 1906
• 1,849 patients had dental surgery in 2016.

What we have funded

• Nearly £63,000 to fund a pilot study for a new dental training programme for students
• Development of a training DVD for use by dental staff across the South West
• Attendance for students and staff to various training courses including National Dental Therapist Conference, European Congress of Dental & Maxillofacial Radiology and more.
