Farrington Golf Club has raised £22,000 for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, formerly known as Above & Beyond.

The club has been fundraising for the charity for the past three years, after it was chosen after a member at the club who was treated at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) for lymphoma.

Both the men’s and lady’s teams have been fundraising throughout the year, including quizzes and a charity golf day.

The annual charity day featured a round of golf, an auction and a raffle, in total raising the huge sum of £11,000.

Men’s captain Alan Fussell, who organised the charity day, said: “Following the challenge of last year’s socially distanced charity day, it was great to get everyone back together for this year’s event.

“I’d like to thank everyone at the club, including the management, for digging deep to support this fantastic charity. It’s so good to know that the money we’ve raised will make a real difference to patients at our local hospitals.”

Last year the club raised £24,000, bringing their total to more than £77,000.
