The surgical day case unit at St Michael's Hospital has had a revamp thanks to your donations to Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.

Featuring new calming murals for the walls, a TV, dementia-friendly activities for the waiting room, new furniture and sensory items, the improvements have made a real difference for both staff and patients. One of the new wall murals on the unit

Ward Sister Hannah Woolley said: "This funding was needed to really elevate our already well-established department. I am so proud to lead my wonderful team and the pleasure we have supporting all of our patients through what can be really challenging times for them. The revamp of these spaces has really enhanced the patient experience."

It was nice to see that, since my last visit, the rooms have had makeovers. The wall art is beautiful with lovely meaning and really grabs attention and brightens the rooms. The significantly more comfortable armchairs are also a massive benefit. The old ones were terrible.

With your support, we can continue to make patients more comfortable across our hospitals. If you can help, make a donation.
