The glamorous Big Hearted Valentine's Ball raised £7,000 for the Bristol Heart Institute.

The ball took place in February this year and featured performances from Tank Sherman, Trena Marie, an Ellie Goulding tribute act, and Shaun Perry.

Money raised has been used to purchase a C-MAC system for the hospital - a camera used to look at the airways of patients being treated in the cardiac intensive care unit.

The team behind the evening, including Loraine Morgan-Brinkhurst, former Mayor of Bath, and Gerald Creed, of Bugler Coaches, who also sponsored the event, have now planned to make the ball an annual event

They are also planning the Big Hearted Bike Day on 6 October at Bath's Odd Down Circuit.

Edd Smith, corporate partnerships and community fundraising officer for Above & Beyond, said: "The ball was a fantastic success and I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved."
