Above & Beyond is ensuring every patient and staff member at Bristol city centre hospitals gets a treat this Christmas.

Gifts will be given to 1,000 patients and 11,500 staff across the hospitals via gift cards delivered across the festive season.

The charity has been bringing Christmas cheer to the hospitals by providing presents for at least the last 10 years. Gift cards are provided to staff who then ensure every patient spending Christmas in hospital receives a suitable present.

This is the first time they have provided a gift card to every ward and department for staff. It is in recognition of all the hard work of NHS staff this year.

Paul Kearney, CEO of Above & Beyond, said: “As this unpredictable year draws to a close, we want to make sure Christmas is as magical as possible for those spending it in hospital.

“We know that many of you will be looking to give back to the NHS this year and by making a donation to Above & Beyond you can help make sure the hospitals are a home away from home for patients and staff.
