Five-year-old Jack Carey, from Nailsea in North Somerset, is running laps of his local park to raise money for the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal.

Jack is taking on the challenge every day for 30 days to support NHS staff who are working around the clock during the pandemic.

The youngster decided on the challenge after his little brother was treated in A&E for a chest infection.

Jack’s dad Anthony, who’s joining him for the challenge, said: “Jack wanted to find a way to say thank you to the doctors and nurses who looked after his little brother.

“He likes to challenge himself and it’s a good way to get some fresh air every day.

“Jack also started running dressed as a superhero to help him go faster.”
