Technology recruitment firm fortice has chosen Above & Beyond as Charity of the Year, aiming to raise £2,500.

The team kicked off their fundraising by taking part in the Tough Mudder event last weekend.

Alex Rosengren, who took part in the challenge, said: "Team fortice loved Tough Mudder 2019, the weather on Saturday thankfully stayed dry, we did not!

"We completed the course in just over three hours. It’s taken us a good few days to get over the aches and pains that come from doing a 10-mile obstacle course. We’re still amazed at the teamwork and camaraderie shown on course – we all mucked in together!"

Now the team are planning a football tournament, bake sales, a fantasy football league and a Rugby World Cup sweepstake.

Alex added: "Being Bristol based, we wanted to support a charity where our fundraising could potentially have a direct influence on our friends and family who might be in need of hospital care.

"We discussed local charity options, and decided together that A&B, as the official charity for all hospitals within UH Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, would be our chosen Charity for 2019/20 – we also decided, rather than support a particular project, to raise money for where it’s needed most."
