Staff members from across the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) have teamed up to tackle the Cotswold 24 Hour Relay Race to raise £5,000 for the BHI Appeal.

The event takes place on the weekend of August 4 and 5 and requires team members to complete as many 9km laps of the course as possible in the 24 hour time-frame.

The challenge will be a great, yet brutal, way for us to get to know our fellow colleagues and work together to reach our fundraising target of £5,000. The Cotswold 24 Hour Run is a fantastic challenge for anyone regardless of their fitness and will enable us to raise money for our hospital's charity which supports us as clinicians as well as supporting patients.

- Caroline Evans, Clinical Lead Cardiac Physiotherapist

The group of 32, which also includes family members and friends, will compete the challenge in smaller teams with all funds contributing to the appeal’s aims to keep the BHI at the forefront of cardiac care in the UK.

You can support the team via its Virgin Money Giving page and we’ll keep you up-to-date with their progress on our website, Facebook and Twitter.
