Everyone here at Above & Beyond is extremely saddened by the passing of Captain Sir Tom Moore and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time.

Captain Tom’s undeniable passion to support the NHS captured all of our hearts and inspired so many to stand behind and support their NHS at this extraordinary time.

He truly went above and beyond his original target of £1,000 to raise a life-changing sum of money for NHS Charities Together.

As we are one of the 240 NHS charities around the country that form NHS Charities Together, we have been so grateful that our NHS staff, patients, friends and family have all directly benefitted from the huge amount Captain Tom raised.

The grants we have received from NHS Charities Together have been used to support a three-year programme of wellbeing support for staff at UHBW, over and above what the NHS can provide. It is already available to every member of staff at the Trust and includes psychological, physical and healthy lifestyle initiatives, such as counselling, one-to-one support and drop-in sessions.

We will continue to emphatically support the Trust with projects over and above what the NHS can provide, including safe, modern and friendly environments, innovative research, the latest equipment and staff training, development and support.

Captain Tom has inspired a new generation of fundraisers at a time when charities are under intense pressure and his legacy will live on for years to come. We thank him and his family for all they have done for the people of Bristol and across the country.
