Virtual reality headset The virtual reality headsets are in use on the Teenage and Young Adult Unit at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. Jamie Cargill, Teenager Cancer Trust Nurse Consultant on the unit, said: "Our patients can often spend long periods of time in the hospital, sometimes remaining inactive and having to undergo stressful procedures and treatments. "This can lead to feelings of depression, isolation and fear or heightened levels of stress. "The project team wanted to explore the use of virtual reality technology to address this."
