Tracey Arthur, senior nurse at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) has been shortlisted for the Institute of Fundraising’s ‘National Fundraising Awards’.Tracey at a fundraising bake sale at the D603 Appeal launch

Tracey has been recognised in the Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year category for the inspirational fundraising she has done for the hospital in which she has worked for more than 21 years.

Over the past ten years, Tracey has raised over £11,000 for Above & Beyond as well as inspiring others to support the charity with fundraising and volunteering. She recently helped launch Above & Beyond’s D603 Appeal with one of her legendary fundraising bake sales in the BHOC.

It came as no surprise to us that Tracey found out about being shortlisted just as she was about to take part in a fundraising event for South West cancer charity It’s in the Bag:

Here I am on my way to Bodmin to start the 300-plus mile cycle back to Bristol for ‘It’s in the Bag’ and I receive this email. Absolutely shocked and honestly love that I am able to make an impact to so many patients and their families.

Tracey is also currently fundraising for the Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge which takes place in September. It is the second time she has taken on the challenge.

The National Fundraising Awards take place on Monday 1 July.
