Ruth Gibson has had double the fun by doubling her run.

By running marathons in Paris and Vienna, Ruth has raised a whopping £2,500 for the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI).

Ruth Gibson ran the Paris and Vienna MarathonsHer brother-in-law Nick (pictured with Ruth) underwent life-saving surgery at the BHI after an undiagnosed heart attack and Ruth wanted to say thank you for his incredible care.

She said: "Two marathons done! And so much raised for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.

"Knowing that so many people have sponsored me and what a difference it will make really kept me going for those tough last miles. Thank you to everyone for your support and generosity. Now for a bit of a sit down!”

Ruth completed a 16-week training programme before running the marathon in Paris on 3rd April and the Vienna Marathon on 24rd April.

Our Fundraising Officer Meg said: "I want to say a great big thank you to Ruth for her incredible support.

"Thanks to her we are able to help more people than ever before and support our fantastic NHS staff and hospitals in new and evolving ways. She's amazing!"
