Having been born with Congenital Heart Disease, Pete was transferred from Gloucester to Bristol Royal Infirmary and underwent his first operation at just a week old.

A follow up procedure a year on was again carried out in Bristol, and Pete has been attending regular check-ups and scans as an outpatient at the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) for almost 10 years. Now he is fundraising to say thank you to staff at the hospital.

I am extremely grateful for the exceptional care I received in Bristol both in infancy and as an adult.  The staff at the BHI have always been fantastic and clearly care an awful lot about their work and their patients.

The keen photographer ran SEVEN marathons across Europe to fundraise for the BHI Appeal - but if that wasn’t enough he cycled to each event!

Pete's marathon journey took him first to Paris, then across the UK before heading back to Europe to cycle to Estonia, Hungary, Croatia and Turkey.
